India’s population is
growing fast every year – from 1.21 billion in 2011, it experienced a
significant spike, rising to 1.22 billion in 2012 and is now at 1.27 billion in
2013. The total male population in India is now at 655.8 million while females
in India are now at 614.4 million, which means there are at least 940 females
per 1,000 males in the country.*
There are many problems
that come with a fast-growing population; the most common of which is poverty
and lack of education. The good news is that there are many charity non-profit organisations
working with the locals to improve their standard of living and alleviate
poverty in India. One of these NGO’s is Kusum Trust Foundation (KTF).
Kusum
Trust Foundation is a non-profit organisation in India
that is working together with
volunteers and donors to turn things around. This
non-profit NGO endeavours to bring a
socio-economic change in rural India with an emphasis on improving the
conditions of India’s rural poor.
Kusum provides IT and
vocational education, healthcare, and environmental awareness for India’s rural
areas. KTF works in partnership with the government, NGOs, corporations,
banking institutions, insurance firms, and microfinance companies to bring a
socio-economic change in rural India.
Kusum Trust Foundation has
80G certification from Income Tax authorities – this allows tax exemption for
individual as well as corporate donors. This makes being a donor a win-win for
both the giver and the foundation. Kusum is also searching for passionate NGO
volunteers who want to give back to the world.
Kusum believes that, when
it comes to helping people, time is the most important thing, not money. This
is why KTF welcomes both donors and volunteers with open arms because without
people who care enough to give their time, the foundation would not be able to
pursue its goals and promote prosperity in India’s rural areas.
